One thing that you should definitely know is that if you are looking into buying a gas RC plane, then you should definitely learn more about them since there is fuel in involved and the use of them can be dangerous which could cause potential accidents.
Having an nitro RC airplane is pretty much like owning a real plane, except more like the miniature version of a real life plane. You have to do everything to it that you would do actually do with a real life human sized plane as far as maintaining it, keeping enough fuel in it so that it does not crash, keeping the oil inside of it clean, etc.
But it really isn’t as much work to maintain as it may seem, though hearing all of the maintenance that you have to keep up with causes some people to not even want to bother buying one. I must say that you most definitely will be missing out on something unique if you decide to turn away from such a neat hobby!
There are some people that take pride in taking care of a gas RC plane, and they actually love keeping up with the maintenance on it. You will never know if you like it or not until you give it try.
The downside of the RC gas planes is that they are a bit more expensive to keep up with considering that you have to keep them fueled up. So because of this some people prefer the electric versions which don’t require as much work as the nitro RC planes.
Another downside of the gas powered planes is that they are very loud when you are flying them which are not good for people that live in quiet neighborhoods where noise is not tolerated very much. This would obviously mean that in order to fly your plane you would need to go to a secluded open area where noise will not be an issue for you to fly your plane.
